The Old Tire Swing

We have had this old tire swing hanging in one of our big trees by the creek since we bought this house four years ago.  It has never served any purpose.  It hangs too close to the ground, is hung too close to the tree, is too close to the creek, and just outta the way for the kids to play on.  This year I decided to try a little something I had seen while cruising around Pinterest.....making the old tire swing into a cute little planter!  I had my hubby drill a pretty large hole in the bottom before filling it with potting soil.  Then just a little water and love and we no longer have an eye sore in the yard!!

Rustic Americana Rag Wreath

My second rag wreath was for a benefit for a lady with cancer.  I decided to do a rustic Americana kinda vibe for this wreath.  This time I chose four fabrics and five ribbons. (I waited until both were on sale at Hobby Lobby again). One of the ribbons was a chevron striped burlap that proved a little more difficult to tie but, looked sooo good!  Same as before, I cut the fabric and ribbon into strips.  I used about 7 inch strips this time and still an 18 inch wire frame with four rows.  I think this one turned out fuller and cuter than the last one.

My First Rag Wreath

I made this wreath to match the new dining room makeover.  I used an 18 inch wire frame with four rows on it.  I bought four fabrics and three different types of ribbons in coordinating colors when they were on sale at Hobby Lobby.  I cut into strips of about 6 inches and tied very tightly to all four rows and scrunched as tightly together as I could to make sure that it was full and fluffy.  It takes FOREVER but is super easy!  And it turned out awesome!!  Next time I tried using about 7 inch strips of fabric which I think was better.

More Family Wedding

I was able to snap some pretty cute shots of some of the family right after the wedding ceremony.  I wish I had more time there because the entire yard was really cool with tons of great photo ops!

A Couple From Matt and Lacey's Wedding

I was able to snap this really sweet shot from the very back of the wedding since we arrived so late.  But, had we not arrived late then I wouldn't have gotten this shot so, I guess it worked out! :)
